Cable firmware
You should not need to change it but here is the procedure incase you want to.
(I'll probably add some pictures later).
1. on a computer open
V1 or
V2. if it didn't say 2.0 on the site where you bought it then it's typically a V1. this page currently gives a warning so ignore and continue :-)
2. in the pull down select the newest date. either slcan or candlelight is fine. it's ok to switch.
3. if the canable has a plastic case you will usually have to remove it. with the canable unplugged hold a peice of wire or paper clip across boot pins / pads. if there is only one next to the boot then join to that whereas if it's in a group of a few then typically one is labeled boot and you'll connect it to one labeled 3.3v
4. plug in to the computer while the boot pin is still connected. think you can now remove the boot pin.
5. click connect / update. the device shouuld be listed as stm something. if it does not appear in the list then either the boot pin was not correctly join when you plugged it in or you'll need to use a different usb port. some usb3 ports on some versions of windows will have problems, can be solved using a usb hub or different port.
6. all done.
